Valley Lakes Cottages offers tranqul self-catering accommodation with wedding venue at the foothills of the Drakensberg, Underberg, KwaZulu-Natal
Valley Lakes is a peaceful and comfortable place to stay just outside Underberg, South Africa. Isolated and tranquil, it provides the perfect opportunity to relax, connect with nature, explore the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg or enjoy some of the country’s finest fly fishing.
We also have an amazing function and wedding venue with spectacular views, plenty of space and unique photo opportunities.
Valley Lakes Accommodation
There are 3 self-catering cottages sleeping 24 in total. Each cottage can sleep eight people and is fully furnished and equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The 2 bedrooms downstairs sleeping 4 people are tastefully appointed and can be configured to twin or double beds depending on your preference. A further 4 guests can be accommodated in single beds on a mezzanine floor.
The cottages have indoor fire places, outdoor fire pits and Weber braais with wood sold on site.
The kitchen has all utensils, cutlery and crockery along with toasters, microwaves, kettles and ovens. They are cleaned and serviced daily.
Complimentary welcome tea/coffee is provided on your arrival and free WiFi is available on your request.
A selection of boats are available for hire and mandatory life jackets are provided.
Check in is after 2pm and check out is strictly before 10am, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Rates
Our accommodation rates are R380 per person per night and R250 for children under 10 years old. Babies under two stay free. There is a minimum of R760 per night out of season and R2280 per night in season and on long weekends.
Rod fees, boat hire and fire wood are not included.
Weddings & Functions at Valley Lakes
Valley Lakes provides the backdrop for a breath-takingly unique wedding or function. Our venue is scenic and intimate with larger wedding parties advised to hire in a marquee and take advantage of the space available.
There is ample parking, kitchen and ablution facilities, staff available, plus full use of all three cottages. Bridal parties also have the option of using our beautiful cart horse to either ferry guests or to make a dramatic entrance.
We also offer it as a functions venue with accommodation, catering for up to 24 people, it is ideal for showcasing your product. Team building activities include trail running or walking, birding and fly fishing or take a drive up Sani Pass.
The venue is also ideal for smaller functions such as birthday parties or anniversaries, any occasion which deserves celebrating.
